Residents and staff have the right to file grievances and have them addressed in a formal and timely manner as part of their recovery or employment in a supportive living or work environment without fear of reprisal. Grievances may be filed if an individual feels their rights have been violated by discrimination, sexual harassment or treatment that is inconsistent with the Policies & Procedures of Prodigy’s House, LLC.

Procedure:

  1. Grievances must be submitted in writing to the Director; grievances against the Director should be submitted to Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR).
  2. The Director will review the grievance and meet with the person filing the grievance to gather more information and attempt to identify a resolution.
  3. If necessary, the Director will meet with additional residents or staff members to gather more information and attempt to identify a resolution. Such meetings may be held with or without the presence of the person filing the grievance, at the sole discretion of the Director.
  4. A final resolution will be presented to the person filing the grievance.
    • If the resolution is acceptable, the original written grievance and any other pertinent paperwork will be filed in the resident’s or staff member’s file.
    • If the resolution is not acceptable, the resident or staff member filing the grievance will be referred to the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) for further consideration in compliance with their policies and procedures.     • All grievances will be processed immediately and ever effort will be taken to have a speedy resolution, within 72 hours.
  5. Residents are free to file a grievance without fear of retribution, intimidation or any other negative consequences.
  6. Prodigy’s House has posted a Grievance Policy and Procedure in the foyer.
  7. Prodigy’s House, LLC will maintain a signed copy of grievance policy and procedure from the handbook.
